Partnership with area faith communities underway in Wayzata, Minnesota

Putting Family First met with over 25 Clergy and representives from area faith communities in two separate meetings in May. Together we explored the problem of hyperactive families. We asked why we think this problem exists and how things got to be like this? We talked about how "extreme busyness" has inflitrated our own lives and how we see it impacting our faith community families. Clergy agreed that they've seen the effects of families struggling with finding time to be together. They pointed out that they see that they are also part of the problem.

Putting Family First proposed a partnership with them, asking clergy to recruit at least 2 lay people to bridge from their communities to the grassroots citizen group of Putting Family First. The hope is that together we can encourage our families to find balance and sanity in their family life.

The launching workshop for this partnership is scheduled for Saturday June 22, 2002.
